Cancellations, Refunds, & Transfers

If a student cancels their registration:

The cancellation deadline is 4 weeks (28 days) prior to the first day of your selected course. We retain the following amounts for each class in the case of cancellation, equivalent to the amounts of each non-refundable registration deposit:

  • $350 - Birth Doula Workshop

  • $45 - The Use of TENS in Labor and Birth

  • $25 - Basics of Breastfeeding Education

A refund (less cancellation fee/registration deposit) will be approved only if written notification is received 4 weeks (28 days) prior to the first day of class. Refunds may take 5-10 business days to approve and process.

We cannot grant tuition refunds after the 4-week deadline. However, you may transfer your registration to another ACBE workshop within 2 years. If you do not complete another ACBE workshop within 2 years, all payments will be forfeited.

Registration deposits may be applied to another ACBE workshop within 2 years. Registration deposits and cancellation fees are non-refundable.

If a student transfers their registration:

A transfer to another workshop must be requested in writing by 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the first day of the student’s original class. Transfers requested after this date are subject to a $50 transfer fee.

If a transfer request is received in writing before the 2-week deadline, the student is allowed one free transfer to another workshop. Any additional transfers after this are subject to a $50 transfer fee. Transferred registrations are not eligible for refunds.

If ACBE reschedules a workshop:

If ACBE finds it necessary to reschedule a session for any reason, we will let all registered students know about the change as soon as possible. A refund may be granted if the new/rescheduled session dates conflict with the student’s schedule and no alternative options are available; in such case, the student is responsible for notifying ACBE of the conflict in writing at least 4 weeks (28 days) prior to the first day of the new/rescheduled session.

If ACBE cancels a workshop:

If ACBE finds it necessary to cancel a workshop instead of rescheduling, students will be notified and full refunds will be issued to all registered students.

No-Show Policy

If a student registers for a class and is absent, without communication to the instructor or office staff before the beginning of the class, ACBE will consider that student a “no-show” and all prior payments made by that student will be forfeited.

Payment Deadlines

ACBE does not guarantee class availability or hold spots in any class without payment.

A non-refundable registration deposit (Payment #1 of 2) is required at the time of enrollment.

Your balance payment (Payment #2 of 2) is due two (2) weeks before the first day of your selected session. ACBE does not charge balance payments automatically and your balance payment must be made by you through your session information page.

The final registration deadline for all classes is two (2) weeks prior to the first day of each class session as long as space remains available.

Late registrations may be accepted for some workshops. ACBE reserves the right to charge an additional fee for tuition payments received after the due date. Failure to pay your tuition balance by the due date may result in forfeiture of your spot in the course, especially if space is limited or a class is full and waitlisted. Tuition for a course must be paid in full before ACBE will issue you a completion certificate for that course.

Parents of Infants

Babies are welcome at our workshops; we recognize that some of our classes are a long time for parents and little ones to be apart.

Especially for babies 6 months or older, we ask that you bring a partner or support person with you to help care for your baby outside of the classroom and bring her/him in to you when necessary, so that you can focus on the information in class with minimal disruption.

Virtual Class Participants

If you are attending a virtual class or classes, please arrange care for children and pets during your scheduled class time(s). You are responsible for making sure that your learning space is quiet, non-distracting, and will allow you to focus and participate fully in the class.

Discussion and participation are required for virtual class credit. Please keep your camera on during class time and notify your instructor if you need to turn your camera off or step away. We may ask you to complete your class at a later time if your environment is disruptive or your participation cannot be fully assessed. In such cases, no refunds will be issued.

Discounts

Early payment option is available to balance payments received four (4) weeks or more before your selected session and may vary. Payments received after this date are not eligible for early payment discounts. Early payment discounts will not be extended for any reason.

For groups of 5 or more participants, additional discounts are available for Birth Doula Workshops and BABE Courses. Additional discounts are also available to groups hosting a class or classes. Please email office@acbe.com for details.

For military families, additional discounts are available for Birth Doula Workshops and BABE Courses. Present a valid military ID to your instructor for a 10% discount at the workshop.
